The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 8 million activated accounts, marking a historic first for the platform. As of now, there are 8,000,688 activated wallets, with 688 newly created accounts since reaching the milestone earlier today.

This growth highlights the resilience of the XRP ecosystem, even as broader market conditions have dampened investor enthusiasm since late 2025. Despite the slowdown in wallet creation, the XRPL continues to attract new users, underlining a steady increase in its active user base.

Current Wallet Statistics

Data from XRPScan reveals that these activated wallets collectively hold 67.526 billion XRP tokens, showcasing the substantial circulating supply within the network. It's important to note that previous reports indicated the total number of XRP wallets had surpassed 8 million; however, those figures included all wallets ever created, not just those currently active.

Market Impact on Wallet Growth

The recent achievement comes in the backdrop of declining new wallet creation rates. Since March 2026, the XRPL has averaged about 2,300 new accounts per day, which is a drop from the approximately 3,000 daily additions seen in the first quarter of this year. This decline correlates with XRP's price decline of over 70% since its peak of $3.60 in July 2025, now trading around $1.10. Investor confidence has waned due to the overall market downturn, resulting in fewer newcomers to the XRP Ledger.

Comparatively, in Q4 2025, the network added around 4,000 wallets daily during the early stages of the ongoing decline, and in Q3 2025, the average was about 4,800. This shows a stark 52% reduction in new wallet creation compared to the previous high points.
