The reports suggest that Farage has received various forms of support from George Cottrell, a crypto-linked adviser and convicted fraudster in the U.S., during his tenure as the head of Reform UK.

According to The Sunday Times, Farage accepted gifts including staff, security, transportation, and accommodation from Cottrell, who has ties to the crypto gambling platform Tether.bet. These benefits were allegedly not disclosed publicly, which raises questions about transparency.
The extensive support reportedly provided by Cottrell included drivers, social media personnel, security staff, and access to a rented residence close to Buckingham Palace. The former Brexit Party leader insists he has not violated any rules, citing that these gifts were received prior to his entry into Parliament following the July 2024 elections. In response to the claims, Farage labeled the coverage as a targeted attack.
Financial Connections Under Scrutiny
Farage’s financial relationships with crypto investors are already under scrutiny, particularly concerning his ties to Christopher Harborne a stakeholder in Tether. The ongoing parliamentary inquiry aims to clarify any potential conflicts of interest that might arise from these connections.
